Yes, at last it's June 1, 2009. And by 2 P.M., Pacific Time, you must surrender yourself to the Bureau of Prisons --in fact, in THEORY you must report to La Tuna prison in Texas. I have no idea how you are going to get there. Have you left already? Are they taking you, cuffed, in a plane? Or are we correct in thinking you will just hand yourself over in Portland, or Sheridan, and wait to be bussed down there with a coachload of new buddies? Do YOU know how you are going to get there? Will you catch a bus? Or go by train? Or drive, and leave your car in the "long term parking?" And when you get out, Wes Rhodes? Do you know how you will get back? Hmmm. You know what, Wes Rhodes? I don't care. There's no picture today, Wes Rhodes. Because you are HIDDEN FROM SIGHT. We will be watching for you to appear here, Wes Rhodes-- http://www.bop.gov/iloc2/LocateInmate.jsp AND THEN YOU WILL BE GONE.
--
Did you ever think this day would come, Wes Rhodes? I'm not sure I did. But here it is. By this afternoon, at 2 P.M., the countdown clock will have wound down. Should I reset it for a day or two, to a date when this blog might fully end, and perhaps be fully deleted (at least in the form we know it)? Or for a decade from now, when your sentence is scheduled to be over? Or maybe, more realistically, for eight years' time, if you get that "good behavior" dispensation, and the extra six months if you go through rehab? Will the folks in La Tuna agree with the stupid notion that you should GET those six months if you do the rehab? Possibly not. I certainly HOPE not. It wasn't DRINK that made you rob us, and lie about us. It was your own greed and total lack of humanity.
I haven't decided yet, exactly, what I'll do about that clock. And for a day or two, I'm going to leave it, just as it is, and enjoy all those 00000s. Because, you know, I can do what I like. I have freedom of choice. Freedom of--pretty much everything, actually. Freedom. Oh, yes, Wes Rhodes. I've got freedom.
~~
And that feels pretty good, right about now.

I'll be watching for you to appear in the Bureau of Prison records. And when you do, I'll mention you here. I know that LOTS of your old chums will be watching too. In fact, we can all do that at various websites for ourselves, like this 'inmate locator' (click on the link) and find you (maybe even in La Tuna itself, soon); http://www.myinmatelocator.com/Federal/Federal_Prisons/La_Tuna_Federal_Correctional_Institution.html
I expect we'll do that. Oh, yeah. That's how much we care. Just enough to make sure you are in the system. Otherwise, I'm not going to think about you much, Wes Rhodes. Nope. I'll be too busy enjoying life. And liberty. And the wonderful pursuit of happiness of A LIFE ENTIRELY WITHOUT WES RHODES. (BTW, thanks to your DEAR FRIEND Greg Weld, here's a website you might want to take a look at, pretty quickly!! http://www.usprisonconsulting.com/ Oh, what a shame! You have no money, right? But I'm sure there are others out there ready to take whatever you earn in the pokey to try to curtail that sentence. And I bet you will be trying to find them---if indeed you show up today!!! I have to say that ALL BETS ARE OFF).
Yes, dear friends, it's pretty much over. This blog will be here for a while (until I am sure he is in jail, at the very least). Then we'll see. Thanks for sticking with me so long. Keep watching for the last few updates. Be happy. Be glad it's over. And then let's all forget about the F.F. WES RHODES. What a jerk. What a pusillanious mouse turd. What a piece of shit.
Thank you all, every one of you, for your AMAZING support. What a time this has been!! The price tag was WAY too high, of course, but this experience has been an education. I've learned so much, and gained so many friends along the way--friends I'm sure I will keep. I've enjoyed the comments, of course--at times, the comments have kept me going. I am SO GRATEFUL. And I've been overwhelmed by the contributions from my fabulous PHOTOSHOPPER FRIEND--thank you SO MUCH. Words really do fail me, at this point. And by the competition entries, all of them. Thank you everyone for taking part. And--dare I say--thank you to the LIMERICK FAIRY who added fun and mystery to the past several weeks (not to mention the whole of the past YEAR). Such talent, from all these quarters (and now, Limerick Fairy, will you TELL?)
And of course my thoughts are with my "fellow affected investors," especially those among us who didn't live to see this day. Or those who lost loved ones, or who are sick. They are an amazing bunch of people. Such strength of purpose. Such determination. Such good, deserving folks. Wes Rhodes was an idiot to lie to and about this bunch, and to cheat them. He could have spent HIS golden years in the company of true friends who really didn't ask that much of him. Just safe, steady custodianship of their hard-earned funds--not miracles, not improbable gains. And he took another road.
Well, that road has led to its deserved destination, and jail. I'll be watching for him to turn up in the prison records (and I know others will help me). And I'll let you know when that happens, no doubt over the next day or two. But apart from that (which should be soon), I'm going to enjoy even MORE my last few days of vacation. I'll be back in Portland on June 10 (late), and will post SOMETHING after my return. For the rest of today, I'll just smile, I think. I'll check e mails of course, but possibly intermittently. I need some time off myself, for good WES-FREE behavior. For those of you who've written to me over the years and who still don't have my private e mail address but want to stay in touch, use catherinegarrison@ymail.com and, if I can see you are genuine, I'll let you know the 'real' e mail address (the ymail one won't last for ever--it's a huge spam magnet!). If I haven't heard from you for a while, and you contacted me with a 'don't publish' comment, please contact me again if you'd like to stay in touch. I have been assiduous about deleting the emails you have sent with confidential information, and that often includes your e mail address. So please let me have that again, now that the individual you didn't want to know we were in touch, has GONE. I'd love to hear from you. In fact, I'd love to hear from ALL readers, and everyone out there with a stake in this. Old investors, old acquaintances, old friends, old enemies, old wives, girlfriends, kith, kin, clients, professionals, folks in the law in some capacity, whatever. It's been a long and bumpy ride together; let's stay in touch.
~~
But for now, for me, some R and R. If I say it myself, it's well-earned. I'll be checking, and will give the odd update if there's anything important (like that he's arrived at his destination). But not much more. Really not much.
Oh, happy day!!

I once met a pompous prick named Wes Rhodes - he claimed to be a money manager...
Now - he's met my predicted demise. My actual prediction was "you'll read about him in the paper one day, and it won't be good". I made this prediction 10+ years ago. I'm sad that I was right. It's probably the only 'right' call I've ever made. It was an easily made prediction. NOBODY I know spent money the way this pompous asshole did... nobody. I know lots of money management people - CEO's - retired Microsoft millionaires - Venture Capitalists... Nobody spent money the way this asshole did... it was so easy to see through his BS.
Unless he runs... which is my last prediction... he such a gutless coward.. I will never mention his name again. Not even a Wes Who.
Love ya Cate! Enjoy your day! Give Henry a big kiss and perhaps sneak in a suggestive pinch... LOL
Thanks, Greg. And of course THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR AMAZING SUPPORT and comments, which everybody has totally enjoyed. This blog would have been dull without you (and of course my amazing photoshopper friend's stuff, and competition entries--and other commenters---and the Limerick Fairy). But YOU have really kept me going every time I have felt down in the dumps and like giving up.
Thank you.
Cate: I had to come back to see what was on the blog on this memorable day. This would be an extraordinarily uplifting time except for the reality that we are facing the absence of future daily updates, insights and observations from yourself. I've done my best not to be too consumed with contempt for the subject of your blog so I have not always visited every day - sometimes not for a week or two at a time. I have however somehow gleaned some inspiration knowing that every day you are on the job speaking out against WR and his types and the corruption and devastation that comes with their malicious activity. Thanks for your amazing persistence in speaking out against the evil among us and for your precise reporting of the associated events as they occur. You probably have an angel sitting on your shoulder patting you on the back every step of the way.
With any luck Wes will never find his way back into the lives of good people who tend to trust anyone that can sing a song. Sending him off to Texas could be a good start. Maybe he will just stay there.
Thanks, Dee, for those nice words. And yes, let's hope that WHAT GOES TO TEXAS STAYS IN TEXAS (just to modify slightly the old 'happens in Vegas' saying)
Well Wes, the day has finally come.
I have to travel to Texas on occasion and will keep an eye out for you.
I expect to see you in your black and white vertical stripes leading the 20 or so other convicts you are chained to in a nice gospel song while chopping weeds beside the road.
Can't help to wonder that if you had kept your promise and did your very best to help this nearly 3 year long process, instead of manipulating it to your advantage at every turn, someone may have granted your request and let you go to Sheridan. I guess we'll never know.
I do believe in the old saying that "good things come to good people". I guess it goes without saying then that bad things come to bad people. Adios Wes.

Well Cate... how bittersweet today is... not only for the loss of your blog ( which has, I admit, become a HIT addiction) , but also for the end of an Era...How does that old saw go.. "today is the Day they send Wessy away... with five pounds of tea...."... well corny as this is.. we are now without him in our midst to complain about. TO Greg, Louis, Bill B. PDX court ,Dee, Debbi, Trece and all the other contibutors throughout these months of trials and tribulations... we'll miss you... and Don Vito, too, and of course, the Limerick Guy and Photoshopper. Grassmueck and Mossman, and Haggerty too. Tim and Linda and even Jack and Anne.
As I said a long time ago... We'll wait for the other shoe to drop on this one... its all so "Runyonesque". Some clever person should write a book about all the characters that are involved in this (psycho) drama. Perhaps Cate will now that she has some "spare" time.
And so now as Wes rides off into the sunset of his years at La Tuna, spouting epletives in Espanol and Preaching to the hoards of men who have gathered to listen to Himself, the Ordained Minister, I for one, do not think we have heard the last of this despicable man. Hasta Manana!
Hi there, Bill B. and K.Dealtry! All you say is SO right. And yes, we will miss all those folks (haven't heard from Trece in a while). I'm hoping the Limerick Fairy will maybe show up once again (don't know that he/she is a guy, though--I have NO IDEA). And I am sure that we will all stay in touch in BETTER WAYS. And of course we are NOT QUITE DONE YET. There's still that tension in the air. He is still not there in BOP custody as I write (about noon in Oregon, so only two hours to go...). Keep clicking on that link, chums! Will it show up later today? Or tomorrow? Perhaps I'll be asleep...if so, I'll look forward to hearing from LOTS of you back on the old Left Coast. Don't forget to let me know.
I've been perusing the BOP webpage regarding procedures for visiting inmates -- I wonder which of us Affected Investors C. Wesley will include on his approved visitors' list?
I mean for years he told us -- repeatedly -- how much he loved us; wouldn't it make sense he'd want at least one or two of the people he loves to drop by and see how he's getting on in Texas (or is it New Mexico)?
I also noted, sadly, that the Federal prisons emphatically do not allow conjugal visits -- a bit of a moot point in C. Wesley's case, of course, but a great pity for him nonetheless!
Great minds think alike, Pat! I'd clicked on that 'conjugal visits' link also and had similar thoughts, i.e. that it's kinda irrelevant to him anyway. And of course wondered whether he would include our names...Ha ha!
Truthfully, I wonder if he can think of ANYONE to put on such a list at this point.
BTW, I have seen, of course, that the countdown clock has been an hour slow at this point. It's showing about five minutes to go as I write, as opposed to fiftyfive minutes PAST the appointed time. I hope Wes Rhodes hasn't been taking TOO Much note of the clock; he'll be LATE (OOOH, perhaps they'll keep him longer).
Well, no point changing that clock now. Everything will soon be set literally at naught (the way he set all his 'friends' and clients at naught).
I'm off to bed. Thus far I have seen no change in that 'not in BOP custody.' I hope he'll be in the system by the time I wake up. You guys will probably see him there before me, so do flash a comment or e mail (but don't call!!)
Good night. What a LOVELY day.
I can't for the life of me remember what any of you are talking about?
Nice day here today Cate! Played with a buddies hot rod (helping him get it running) then came home and jumped in the pool... "howwww sweet it is..." says Jackie Gleason...
I wondered what I'd do if, I, say... had to go to somewhere down south - say... Tex Ass way... with all that blowing dirt... and no A/C... yucky to the max!
Hurry home - we got a date downtown!
Not to worry Pat, I'm sure ol' Wessy Boy will get PLENTY of conjugal visits from his new buddies in La Tuna.
My guess is, he'll be conjugated pretty much every night by those Mexicans who like the Gringos.
Tip to Wes, stay away from the hot sauce they serve in the chow hall, it will only make things worse, and I don't think they sell Preperation H in the commissary.
Today is a great day. We've ridded our society of the worst scum bag I have ever known and the only good thing to come of it is, I've met some real good people in the process.
I would have gladly forgone the privilage of meeting these people Wes if you would have been an honest man.
Love you all and Fuck You Wes!
